Location viewer FAQ
Common questions about viewing photo locations and adding watermarks.
How do I find the location where a photo was taken?
Upload the photo to our tool. If the image contains GPS metadata, we'll display the coordinates, place name, and an interactive map showing where it was taken.
Why doesn't my photo show any location?
Not all photos contain GPS data. If location services were disabled when taking the photo, or if the metadata was stripped by an app or service, no location will be found.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. All processing happens locally in your browser. The image never leaves your device. Only the GPS coordinates are sent to mapping and geocoding services to display the map and resolve place names.
What is the location watermark?
It's a customizable overlay added to your photo showing the location where it was taken. You can include coordinates, place name, and a location icon. Great for travel photos or documenting where images were captured.
Can I remove EXIF data when downloading?
Yes. Enable the 'Remove EXIF from output' option and the downloaded image will have all metadata stripped, protecting your privacy when sharing.
